Forgiveness is a short-cut to losing a few pounds off the mind. Hate just piles up, forming a big mountain on your head, making the head heavier than ever. Let go of all that you’ve been holding against someone and move on to be happier.

4. Embrace the goodness of life

Be thankful for all the good things in life. Quite often, we chase what we want and when we fail to get a hold of it, disappointment takes over. Relax. You’ve got all that you ‘need.’ And that’s all that matters.

5.The sun shines for you!

Yes! As treacherous as it sounds for some of us, it does help! Pick a book or couple of your favourite websites and read. A lot of wise people have been through what you’re going through and hey! They made it to the other side where the grass is greener. Their experiences and the way they resolved conflicts could come in handy while you resolve yours.

9. Pen in down, let it flow!

just-write
Confiding in someone, trying to make them understand may not always solve your problems. If no one helps, you are to help yourself! After all, you know yourself the best! Start speaking to yourself;write your thoughts on a sheet of paper. Who knows? As you keep writing rather talking to yourself , you might just find solutions and live to be a happier being.

7 Ways to Improve your Diet

1. Swap your orange juice for an orange

Whenever you crave for ‘Citrus’ avoid juicing them.  Eat an orange instead of a glass of juice! Oranges contain more fibre than a glass of juice. Why fibre? To make your digestive system happy!

2. Eat your crispies from a Bowl

Avoiding Potato chips has definitely been a challenge for most of us. The next time you buy a bag of chips, put some in a bowl. This way you may not end up devouring the whole bag.

Studies have shown that when you eat straight from the bag, your brain doesn’t tell you to stop. You’re more likely to eat more this way than if you had poured a finite amount into a plate or a bowl.

3. Switch to Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate helps restore flexibility to arteries while also preventing white blood cells from sticking to the walls of blood vessels – both common causes of artery clogging. Also, it has half the amount of sugar milk chocolates have.

4. When the sun shines, it’s breakfast time

New species of human ancestor ‘Homo naledi’ discovered in South Africa

Rising star Cave, South Africa: In 2013,Berger, a professor at the University of the Witwatersrandin Johannesburg, South Africa, had excavated some major finds. Little did he know that what he found could shake up our understanding of human evolution and make us question our identity.

Two years of probing into depths of limestone tunnels in the Rising Star Cave outside Johannesburg , led to Berger’s latest discovery what they say is a new addition to our family tree.

Homo Naledi 1

“Homo Naledi,”- that’s what Berger’s team have decided to call the new species of human relative. Another interesting discovery is that this new species had been burying its dead- behavior scientists believed was limited to humans. The absence of damage from predators or catastrophes led the team to believe that Homo naledi, a non-human species of hominid, was deliberately disposing its dead in that dark chamber.

Homo Naledi 2

The team believes that the chamber, located 30 meters underground, was a burial ground. Beger said that this was the only other species that  perhaps functioned on certain moral grounds and took the effort to dispose it’s dead fellow men in deep, remote chamers exhibiting some sort of death ritual. “It absolutely questions what makes us human. And I don’t think we know anymore what does” Berger said to CNN.

So far they’ve unearthed more than 1,500 fossil remains .Since the chamber was accessible only through a narrow chute almost 100 yards from the cave’s entrance, Berger  made an announcement on Social media platforms looking for skinny scientists and cavers who could fit through the tiny chute and bring up the bones. It took him about 72 hours to form a team of six “underground astronauts” — all women — to do the job.

Homo Naledi 3

‘Homo Naledi’ –  Very Human like

Scientist say the Naledi’s brain was almost the size of an orange.  It stood about 5 feet tall, had long legs, and have feet like ours, suggesting they could walk long distances.Although its hands are human-like, the finger bones are curved that suggests climbing and tool-using capabilities.

Homo naledi 4

According to Berger, the discovery will question history and our very identity. Several mysteries are challenged by scientists and their conclusions are further challenged by other scientists creating an anti- thesis to their findings.

Berger says he’s got years of careful exploration ahead to prove his theory.”This was right under our nose,” says Berger. “And we didn’t see it. What else is out there?”

Lydia Sebastian: 12 year old Indian scores higher than Einstein and Hawking in IQ Test

“At first, I was really nervous but once I started, it was much easier than I expected it to be and then I relaxed. I gave it my best shot really,” said Lydia, the 12- year- old UK based Indian, who scored maximum 162 in the 150-minute test of mental agility, bamboozling Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking.

When Lydia was just skimming through IQ tests online, she probably had no idea that she would one day appear for the test and ace it, with a score higher than minds behind the general theory of relativity and Hawking radiation.

She is now part of the one percent of all entrants to attain the highest mark in the Cattell III B paper supervised by Mensa, the society for people with high IQ’s. Adding to the commendable score, she also folded her test papers with minutes to spare at the Birbeck College.

Lydia’s father, Arun Sebastian, a radiologist, said his daughter “had looked at the website for the IQ tests herself and had shown an interest in them and talked to my wife about them.”

Lydia 2

Lydia is talented in other areas and has been playing the violin since age four. She is a Potter fan and has read all the 7 Harry Potter books thrice, her parents said.

“Started speaking when she was quite young – about six months. At the time I was a trainee doctor and my wife was studying chemistry and I was away at weekends. She used to say a few words to me on the phone. She also had an early interest in reading. When she was a few years old she was reading books that were for children several years older than her,” said Mr Sebastian.

Both Hawking and Einstein are thought to have an IQ of 160. Mensa is believed to be the largest and oldest high IQ society in the world. Membership is open to anyone who can demonstrate an IQ in the top 2 per cent of the population, measured by a recognised or approved IQ testing process.

Cattell III B has 150 questions, often assessing comprehension through passages of texts, while the maximum score that can be achieved is 161 for adults, and 162 for under-18s.

10 Reasons why you need a home near the Hills!

A sudden halt and the kids jump off the car , running to their holiday home , by the window, looking at the serene hills and then a montage of a happy family with children and grandparents playing on swings, a jumpy canine running amidst the woods and parents overlooking all of this acknowledging their accomplishments. We usually see all of this in mutual fund or life insurance advertisements between prime time television shows. But has the importance of a holiday home near the hills ever crossed your mind?

Here’s why a holiday home amidst the hills could actually be a good buy!

1.Undoubtedly, it’s a perfect place to sit back and relax while you watch your kids frolic to the tunes of nature and not to some bollywood song.

2. With all the massive structures in the city, it’s quite impossible to get a glimpse of the sun. Watch the sunrise or sunset without letting silly concrete walls from blocking your view .

3.It’s definitely that break you need from the honk- bonk city.

4.You really need to get your children off their digital tablets and computers in order to give them a whiff of the real joys of life.

5. Of course, the air is much more breathe- friendly.

6. The birds don’t come chirping to your apartment in the 14th floor anymore. Well, nature is home to many exotic birds and the chances are you would actually wake up to symphonic tweeting. The real kind of tweet!

7.Nature has a mysterious way of healing you from physical and mental stress. Nothing is more relieving than looking at a lot of green and cherishing Mother Nature’s love for you!

8.Look out for a mild terrain and go for a trek! Let night drives not be the only adventure for your kids.

9.Fruits grow abundantly in the surroundings of hills and fruit plucking is a fun activity too. Let your kids know the difference between an organic fruit and a fruit from the grocery store.

10. Several green patches in the city are being replaced by apartments and commercial buildings. The fact that you still have a home amidst nature is definitely a relief. So no matter how much your city is being filled up with concrete, you still have your sweet escape.
